Did you know that you can add a list of custom LUTs to FCPX’s Custom LUT filter? I didn’t at first, but now I know you can. Seems like I am unable to upload screen grabs otherwise I’d add screen grabs, but hopefully this is easy enough to follow.

Go to your user library directory by going to the Go menu in the Finder and hold option. Choose “Library”. If you don’t see Library, it’s because you aren’t holding option.

Once that folder is open, find: Application Support > ProApps > Custom LUTs

(Alternatively, from the Finder, you could hit command-shift-g and copy/paste this command: ~/Library/Application Support/ProApps/Custom LUTs )

Drop any .Cube LUTs in there, Relaunch FCPX, and them when you add the Custom LUT filter in FCPX, you can choose between all of the LUTs you put in that folder.

    Cheers,

    Jeremy

There’s an easier way – when you choose a custom LUT from inside the filter itself, choose a folder instead of an individual LUT and that folder and it’s contents will be permanently added to the list. The same applies to custom camera LUTS in the inspector. The folder(s) can be located anywhere you want.
