Anyone have thoughts or suggestions on what kind of portable field recorder I could add for my JVC-GY 250?

    Hi Tedd,
    I have a JVC GY-HD200, I am using a Datavideo DN-60, runs around $580.
It records to a Compact Flash card, using the firewire interface.
I can double master to both the DN-60 and tape,
so far haven’t needed the tape, the files work fine with Avid Media Composer.
Since you have a 250, you can use a recorder that uses the HD-SDI out,
like the Blackmagic Design Hyperdeck Shuttle, just under $400, plus you
need to get a suitable SSD drive.
The Atomos Samuri has it’s own video screen, it’s $1,600.
File based acquisition is so much better!

    Cheers,
