Adding a filter package replaces existing FX chain
I have Sony Vegas Professional 10 and whenever I add a filter package to a clip, it erases whatever FX chain was there already and replaces it with the plug-ins from the filter package, instead of just adding to the chain.
For example, I add an FX plug-in to a clip (Chroma Keyer). Then I click the icon to add another FX to the chain and select one of my pre-made filter packages that contains a few colour correction plug-ins (HSL adjust, brightness/contrast, and curves). When I click the Add button, it erases the existing chain and replaces it with the three plug-ins from the package. So the Chroma Keyer is lost.
Anybody else experience this?

You could decide to make the more Global FX a Track FX and keep the “other” as an Event FX?

Yea, as Grazie said, it’s always been this way. An FX chain replaces all FX that are currently applied with the new chain. That’s how it’s supposed to work.

That seems bizarre to me. A filter package is supposed to be a convenient way to bundle together plug-ins to easily add them to a chain. When adding a filter package the button says “Add” on it. 1 plus 3 is supposed to be 4. Oh well, I guess I’ll just need to remember to add a filter package first, then add the individual plug-ins after.

I can see where it seems bizarre but it’s always worked that way so we’re kind of use to it. It would be nice to be able to Add or Replace. That would be a good feature to include.
