    Hello.

    I am on a G5 OSX 10.3.9 with 5.5GB DDR SDRAM.

But yesterday I had 2GB DDR SDRAM.

As when I goto to setting and when it is RAM previewing or Rendering out, it only says it using a % of 2047MB.

What do I have to do to make AE realise the new RAM

    Thanks.

Recode your OS to 64-bit, then recode AE to make use of the new OS.

Sorry to be flippant, but until everybody’s on 64-bit OS and apps, AE can use no more than 2 GB of RAM.

    Steve 🙂

Fair enough. But surly After Effects can use more than 2GB of RAM – I have a 15 second clip of a logo flying in to screen using 3d invig. To render out RGB+Alpha it says it will take 1hour and a half. If I do something full on later down the track, will I have to come back in a week?

Yep! 2GB is the max for now. But did you know that you could render Invigorator objects using OpenGl? (Pro only feature)
It’s not suitable for all kind of Invigorator animations as OpenGl doesn’t support transparency for instance but depending on your object texture and graphic card of course it may speed up your render tremendously.

    Salut.
