Hello all, I am trying to apply a gradient to a clip so that the image fades to transparency.

How can I make a transparent gradient that I could animate with key frames?

    Thanks.

From the generators start with making custom gradient. Whatever’s white in the gradient will be opaque in your image, whatever’s black will be transparent. Put the custom gradient on the layer underneath the video. To the video apply Modify>Composite Mode>Travel Matte – Luma. Adjust and animate the custom gradient in the timeline to alter the transparency gradient in the layer above.

    All the best,

    Tom
