add subtitles on long video with a free software

April 6, 2021 at 12:47 pmHello,
My editing days are long gone so I don’t own an editing software anymore. I am trying to help a friend who needs to add a .srt file to a 45mn long video and export the result. The free editing apps don’t accept files this length (and let’s not talk about iMovie).
Would anyone have a solution ? Thanks !Jeremy Garchow

FCPX has has a free trial.
Davinci Resolve is just free and can export srt.
Do you have the srt file already or do you need to create the captions from scratch?

April 6, 2021 at 5:38 pmDavinci Resolve is free and fully functional. There is a version that you pay for, but the limit is resolution (over and above 4k).
