Add shape
Posted by Tim Cavins on April 21, 2010 at 9:16 pmI want to add a colored rectangle at the top of my screen. I have text already in place and want a solid background color behind the text.
I’ve tried going to Video Generators > Shapes > Rectangle, but can’t get anything to appear at the top of the screen.
How can I go about doing this?
Thanks

Either by dragging it in the canvas window (if it’s in image+wireframe mode)…or via the center point values in the motion tab

April 21, 2010 at 9:48 pmClick on the small film frame with the letter “A” that’s just under you viewer in FCP, and choose Boris>>Vector Shape for this job. Once it’s loads in the viewer, open the Controls tab, then choose the parameters you need. Then, drag it to the timeline and load it change the parameters as needed by double clicking on it in your sequence to reload in viewer and making further changes in the Controls tab.

April 22, 2010 at 12:15 pmMichael,
Thanks. I’ve done this but when I drag the viewer to my timeline, it includes the black space, not just the rectangle that I created.
How can I get it so just the rectangle is visible? The black area below the rectangle is now covering up my original video?
Thanks

April 22, 2010 at 10:07 pmAbsolutely dumb that these generators do not come with an alpha channel. Perhaps now that we have ProRes Quad.
