  • Add points to a existing mask

Can someone tell me how I can add points onto an existing mask? It seems that while masking if i click on anything else such as the selection too to adjust the image then when I go back to mask tool it always starts a new mask. How can I add points to a mask I already have?

EDIT: to be more specific i meant the mask wasnt ended basically i just put a few points then use selection tool to move the picture then i want to continue from the last point where i clicked away from mask tool

You really just need to select the mask before trying to edit its path. It’s tricky, yes. Open the Mask section of the online help and study it carefully. Sometimes it’s easier to do this in the comp canvas, sometimes it’s easier to do it the layer viewer.

adding points to continue an existing mask has been driving me nuts, as AE seemed to start a new mask, forcing me to re draw the mask from scratch…but if you click on the last point of the mask from where you want to continue with the convert vertex tool (last item in mask tools), it works!!

    sorted.
