add noise to shapes
Posted by Maxim Moisseev on February 23, 2009 at 11:34 amHi guys!
Any ideas how to add “noise” to shapes in C4D r10?
I make a coin and want it to look a bit used, so to get rid if the sharp edges.Randy Johnson replied 17 years, 5 months ago 2 Members · 7 Replies -

February 23, 2009 at 12:40 pmyou can use displacement in the texture to give it age. Coins are generally done with displacement.

February 23, 2009 at 3:05 pmAre they seperate pieces of geometry or one that you modeled? a hypernurbs can round the edges but if you have a lot of extrudes could be some work. You can also chanfur the splines or fillet the edges… and ambient occlusion makes things look old too.
Some dents in your material and scratches.

February 23, 2009 at 3:17 pmThey’re all separeted of course. Mostly extruded nurbs. i’d be fool to model text objects ))
To chamfer every edge is not the issue for me, I’m sure there is some way to chamfer all objects at one time.

February 23, 2009 at 3:26 pmreally depends how you built your scene.
If you still have the extrude nurbs play with cap fillets. If you dont like this look goto your spline and select the points you want and right click to get the chamfur tool.
Anything made editable you will need to select the edges and use the bevel tool.OR your can make everything a single object and use a hyper nurbs…

But what exactly shall I do after dropping all geometry into HyperNurbs?
I’m not so familiar with it, sorry. -
