    Hello guys,

Im trying to make an eagle and i want to model a simple feather (a single plane shaped like a feather).

My question: is it possible to apply geometry to the hair guides??

Im talking about a custom shape, an object that i model, not polygon hair

    is it possible??

    thank you.

It is possible. You have to go to the hair object’s generate tab and set the type to instance. Then drag your feather into the object box and adjust the settings to taste.

    Thank you Adam! that’s it!

But now i have another question. And if i want to bake the hair geometry to a point cache tag?

i know i can cache the animation in the cache tab of the hair object but that is not what i want

i want to bake it to a point cache tag to have the ability to control the strenght and the duration of the animation (to speed and to slow down)

or maybe if i want to export the resulting mesh to another 3d software…

    thank you
