  • Add a progress bar overlap on a video

    Greetings,

I’m interested in adding a progress bar on some of my videos. If anyone is familiar with the TV Channel and website Current (current.com), then you will have an idea of what I mean. I’m just looking to put progress bars on short 3-10 minute clips.

I’ve been out of the video editing realm for a while but am doing this for a project for my parents. I haven’t a clue of where to start looking for information on how to do this – I tried searching online with no luck whatsoever. Any and all guidance would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Joe

I’m not familiar with that channel but you can try this. Generate a solid color from the media generator. Make the length for as long as your video is going to be and then put this solid over your video on your timeline. Open the event pan/crop for the solid and adjust the size to make it look like a bar and place it toward the bottom. Checkmark the mask tab and make a mask around the entire solid frame at the beginning. Go to the end of the event, move just the 2 anchors on the left and bring them over to where the other 2 anchors are on the right. By moving these, there should be a keyframe added automatically. The bar should now disappear as the video is played. Hope this helps.
