Add a light to a single layer. Possible?
Posted by Brian Pitt on March 25, 2009 at 6:57 pmI am trying to light only a single element in my motion project. I’m familiar with motion, but relatively new to lights and cameras within motion.
I want only my top layer to have a light applied to it without it lighting the rest of my canvas/project. is this possible?

March 26, 2009 at 3:00 pmYes, you can do it. Put every thing you don’t want effected by the light in one group. In the Properties tab click on the lighting disclosure triangle. Change the Shading pop-up menu to off.
If you want you don’t need to group the objects, you can set them all individually. Hope this helps.Check out my DVD Money Making Graphics & Effects for Final Cut Studio 2
