    Hi,
I am animating a scene where there is a starship that I want to add light engine emitting light (glowing) in the bac and also have a decoration light for different parts of the ship I am working on a 3d element inside of after effect
what do you think is the best way to do so so I can animate the ship later and the light moves perfectly without tracking?

You have at least a couple of options:

    1) Make a texture that has an illumination channel, then use Element’s Glow render settings with “from illumination” selected.

or, to get actual light that illuminate things:

    2) Create nulls with Element’s “create null” utility and parent lights to the nulls.

    3) If you have Optical Flares, you can additionally use the lights from (2) as optical flare sources.
