    Hi

Well, I did it! My first foray into HD. I bought that new Sanyo Xacti HD1010. Fantastic camera and shoots really great vids. shoots to SDHC cards.

So now to get it into Vegas Pro 8b, I need Vasst’s Upshift right?

Until I upgrade my editing computer, I’m currently working with a —

    HP Pavillion a844n – P4-630 3.0gHz
    Asus PTGD1-LA – Chipset Intel 915GV
    2gb RAM, PC3200
    C drive, 250gb SATA
    2-200gb SATA internal
    2-320gb WD “My Book” ext 1394/USB HD’s
    1-750gb Seagate Ext 1394/USB
Onboard Video Graphics, Intergrated 64MB Mem.
Intergrated Intel HD audio; Realtek ALC-880 chipset, THX
    300 Watt Power supply

I know I need a dual/quad core and will soon be upgrading to a MAC Pro using Bootcamp to put in XP and Vegas, as well as Studio 2.

Especially because I’m thinking of selling both my cameras and getting that new Panasonic AG-HPX170. the Sayno would be great for B-Roll!

I’ve been reading all the HD/SVC posts with interest but now I got one so want to make sure. Final Cut Express Log and Transfer won’t see the clips. Had to use MPEG Streamclip to get the clips into FCE. ugh!

    Thanks
    Allen

When I upgraded to Vegas 8.0c, the AVCHD that I shoot, (1440 x 1080i), immediately played smoother. Along with that, 1920 x 1080 clips, from a different camera, that are encoded with a Quicktime wrapper and that would not even be recognized or play in 8.0b, actually play great in 8.0c. This is on a Core 2 Duo system with Raid 0 and 2 GB of ram.
