    I am working on my 1st 3d photo montage. One of the effects that I wanted to make happen is to have a glow effect flash when the soundtrack reach a certain amplitude. I have read several posting on this but so far I have had trouble finding one that made sense to my neophyte understanding of AE. Basically when the song reaches it’s highest amplitude I want the glow to fire off. So far none of the expressions that I have come up with work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Select your music layer and in the animation tab, choose keyframe assistant “convert audio to keyframes”

    Add a glow effect and add this expression to glow intensity:

    minMusic = 20//where glow turns off
    maxMusic = 24//glow at highest intensity
    minGlow = 0
    maxGlow = 2
    ease(thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”),minMusic,maxMusic,minGlow,maxGlow)

    I have 20 and 24 for where the glow turns off and on, but that’s just based on my music sample, you will need to adjust for your music.
