    Do action and title safe regions apply to LCD flat panel tv’s? I always kind of had the impression that LCD tvs and monitors don’t have the underscan issues that a regular CRT tv has, but I don’t know if thats correct or not.

    Well, safe areas still apply. The simplest reason being that even in on LCD you see not all pixels that the screen actually posseses. However, they are much smaller, more in the 2-5 percent range rather than 10. The old rule applies: The better the monitor, the more pixels it will display.

    Yes, still go by the 10% guidelines when composing, but you kinda have to assume there’s no such thing as “action safe” anymore. Do all your comps and mattes all the way the the edge just to be safe.
