    Action or Script for AE Video Export?

    Hey everyone,

    hope you guys had a good start into the new year.

    I have a question on how to automate a specific task in After Effects. Or maybe there is another third party program or plugin or something that does the job.

    Here is what I wanna do:

    I have a source video file that is approximately 5 minutes long.
    Into that source video I need to add 2 other video clips.

    For example: On my 5min timeline I need to add a 1 min clip at 2:30mins and another 1min clip at 4:30mins. And then export this as a single clip.

    The reason for that is I have hundreds of these 1min clips that need to be added to the 5min source video at those two specific times and need to be exported as a whole clip. So this action or script has to be repeated a hundred times and that would be a huge he time saver compared to editing everything by hand.

    Does that make sense?

    Is there anyone who could help me with that?
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Ensure that you include details on the type and duration of the transition and the source of the clip to be inserted (ie precomp or movie)For such a huge task, you should be able to set aside a budget to hire someone to do the scripting bit for you.

    Sure I’m going to pay the one how helps me with that. I thought that was common sense but I’ll add that to my new post.

    Since all these actions are doable by keyboard, I’d suggest the fastest way to do this without writing a customized script is to write a macro with a program like AutoHotkey (Windows) or Keyboard Maestro (Mac). You could do this yourself and have the whole project done inside an hour or two.
