I’m thinking about buying the Action Movie Essentials. I just have two questions: Is it only compatible with After Effects CS3? Cause I have After Effects 6.5. Is it compatible with that?

There should be no compatibility issues with it at all. It is a collection of PNGs and PNG encoded MOVs.

Someone at my work ordered the collection, and it’s a nice time saver although I was disappointed to find that most of it is not actually live footage but computer generated imagery (the explosions, sparks, smoke, gun fire, etc.) that someone could easily make themselves if motivated.

The fog, for example, was seriously disappointing. It’s a collection of fractal noise layers (perhaps with some displacement and particle systems in some cases) rendered out of AE.

Well, I liked it. It’s come in very handy on several projects.
