    Hi All,

When making an action, how do I manage to get photoshop to record “current layer”, instead of “layer 10” ect.

So the action could be applied to any layer rather than layer 10.

Gee, i hope that makes some sense.

    Thanks!

if you choose your layer before you click on record I dont understand why it would be naming it layer 10..it should be naming it current layer… you are probably selecting the layer during record and that adds the entry “choose layer 10”

forgive me if this is not the case, and if you can please explain how you are creating your action so we can better help you.

    kind regards

Hi Renato – Thanks for your interest.

Sorry, i was just using layer 10 as an example. It could be any layer.

If I want to create an action that selects the layer above. How do i get photoshop to record “layer above” rather than the layers name?

    Cheers!

    ah ok..sorry I misunderstood your post…

the shortcut you are looking for is alt+ ] “select foward layer”

    hope that does the trick

    good luck
