Acrobat question
yes, i know it’s not an FCP question, but it sort of relates…
a client sent me their logo embedded in an Adobe Acrobat file, so it looks just like an image or picture on a Word document page. unless i’ve been missing something over the years, there is no way to suck this picture out of the Acrobat file and manipulate it in Motion or FCP?
this client is WAAAY under the gun, and before i write her back to tell her i can’t use this image, i wanted to cover all my bases and really make sure i can’t use it…

Try this. Open the file, use the box tool and crop the area you want to copy, copy it and paste it into Photoshop. Note: Some files are locked and you cannot do this.

Can you open it in illustrator. Save it as an EPS and then save to any other format you need?

Oh, I meant to open your pdf. file in Apple’s Preview, and use the box tool there, not in Acrobat.

FCP and Motion can import Acrobat PDF’s just fine. No need to convert anything.
I would bring it into Motion if you need to mask around the logo, as the masking tools are more robust.
