I’ve got a large project with tons of clips.

Each clip may have different audio levels and may be voice and/or music.

What procedure is recommended for acheiving consistent audio levels throughout the project?

I am not impressed with the “normalize” function, since if a louder sound appears anywhere in the clip, then the audio gain will not be brought up, and the audio in the clip through most of it stays much too low.

I am thinking perhaps I should export the audio in Soundbooth or Audition, but then I’m still not sure what’s best to do.
