    Hi there,

I have finished grading a project and I am rendering out as usual to an uncompressed quicktime.
However, I graded this project on the ACES colour science and now when I export the video file created is black crushed. (I have tried codecs too inc pro res)

Do I need to apply an outgoing ACES LUT to convert the colour space back to RGB?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jon

    Hey Jon,

Have you made sure to have the Rec709 output transform on when grading?

It should all flow nicely for you then.

    Hope this helps!

Assuming you were grading in rec709, 64-940, it sounds like you’re getting quicktimes that are getting stretched to full range (0-1023) rather than SMPTE (64-940).

If you graded in rec709 then hopefully you had rec709 selected as an output device transform in the settings.
