Hi Jimmy –
why would you do this today? Why would you want to run XSAN on a dedicated computer to do shared storage, when it’s all self contained by products from companies like QNAP and Synology, for a fraction of the price. And with products like the TVS-1282T3, you get 4 working thunderbolt 3 ports (in addition to two 10G port and four 1G ports) all for about $3000. Doesn’t that make more sense. And since you do AVID all the time, all you have to do is run Indiestor Mimiq on the Media Composer stations, and get full AVID bin locking. Doesn’t that make more sense ?
