    Hello Everyone,

I need some advice. I am tired of color correcting (I know I have a bad setup) and then exporting and having Gamma, Exposure and color changes.

What i need is some advice. I am going back to the USA in December (I work in Vietnam) and I’m going to get a Mac Pro and plan on getting a Blackmagic card so that I can hook up a HDTV (HDMI) to do color correction so I stop going crazy over all the shifts I have when exporting a grade.

Is the Blackmagic Intensity Pro the right card for me to buy to be able to grade accurately on a HDTV?

Does anyone know where I can find an installation tutorial for the BM Intensity Pro into a Mac Pro?

Any tutorials out there on how to calibrate and setup a simple but accurate color correcting workstation like what I have in mind?

Any other I/O cards I should consider before getting the Blackmagic?

Any recommendations for a HDTV to use as a reference monitor?

Can anyone think of anything else I might need or I’m naively overlooking?

I hope this new set up helps me to never again spend days guessing my color grading accuracy when exporting my films.

Thank you very much for your help and advice.

    Ehrin

    It’s adequate.

Not much to it. Open the mac, plug the card in. BM, I’m sure has a decent manual.

Flanders Scientific LCDs are the choice of most Colorists right now.

i1Display Pro is good. But if you have budget, go for a broadcast monitor suggested by Jeff.
