  • Accidentally edited FCP 7 Project without transcoding DSLR footage

I recently switched over to using DSLR Cameras to shoot video and edited an entire project in FCP 7 without transcoding into pro res. The footage loaded into FCP fine and I edited (albeit slowly) the footage. I completed the project but after some research I now realize it needed to be transcoded into Apple Pro Res. I am having issues with motion effects in the export, it looks really off. Is it too late to transcode or can I transcode footage now and then reconnect media to already edited project. I feel really dumb for not knowing to transcode. What should I do??

Change the sequence codec for Prores and set “Render all YUV in High Precision”.
Render the sequence and then export with current settings.
