  ACCESS VIOLATION with P2 media?

  Shot 480 30i on several cards for a client, who has since taken the footage via an FTP upload (yes, all 63GB…). He has sent me a few emails saying that he believes some of the media has been corrupted because when he tries to play it Avid (I believe he is on a PC)it gives him an “ACCESS_VIOLATION” error:

  “When I attempt to play a possibly corrupted file a window pops up saying: “String Exception Error: ACCESS_VIOLATION…” followed by a log number.”

  My first inclination is that the file is not corrupted and instead the folder, harddrive, or specific files he is trying to use have had their permissions set incorrectly. He said that he checked this to no avail.

  Deadline is rolling around soon, and I can play these files fine on my computer (MC 2.8). What can he or I do to resolve this issue? Thanks everyone.
