  • Access Violation on Video Display Setting

Hi, I edit on an Avid Xpress Pro system on a PC. I recently bought the Canopus ADVC 110 video converter to capture from analog souces and to preview on an NTSC TV. All my hardware is hooked up correctly, but I can not get a signal from the Avid to the TV.

My problem arises when I go to change the video display. When I try to open the setting, I get “an ACCESS_VIOLATION exception occurred. For more info. see error log….” I open the error log that reads, “AVID SYSTEM DUMP – Wed Jul 06 21:56:19 2005 (and it goes on to list my system specs.)” Then, If I try to open the timeline settings right after, I get a “FATAL ERROR, msg:Refcon is not an AWindow…”

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

    Sal.

My buddy gave me a hand.. turns out that there is a switch on the Avid timeline to toggle between video out. Blue sends a singal to the monitor and green is for editing/compositing/colour correcting/renders/etc.

…in case somebody else has the same issue.
