    Hi,

I have a surround mix consisting of 6 discreet channels (scored and output from protools by a sound studio) that I need to encode into an AC3 file. I’ve already purchased the minnetonka plug-in encoder but I can’t figure out how to properly route these channels in premierpro. It seems to me that premier pro has no way for me to specify that front center channel should go ONLY to the front-center speaker and not be mixed into the left and right. Same situation with the LFE track. Am I missing something or is premier goofy?

You can set up surround mixing either in the Audio Mixer window or in the timeline by looking at the audio panning keyframes.

…yes, I understand that. The problem is that my surround mix is already mixed. I don’t want premier to muck with it, I just want premier to give me a “pass-through” to the ac-3 encoder. It doesn’t seem to have the ability for me to send my center channel audio ONLY to the center speaker and my LFE ONLY to the LFE channel. Try opening the surround mixer window and drop one of your mono tracks into the center indent on the panner. Even if you turn up the “send to center” knob only on that track, you still get audio from that track in the front left and front right channels, in addition to the center. I don’t want this to happen, since any center channel information that I wanted to be mixed into the left and right, is already mixed into the left and right before premier came into the picture.
