AC3 issues vs WAV – Dialog normalization
Ok, I’m stuck on this issue: AC3 total sound levels vs WAV total sound levels.
Projects with audio rendered to AC3 have a substantially lower overall audio level than when I render to WAV. I hear it and see it when I move over to DVD Architect. Is this a Dialog normalization setting or something else? I would rather go with AC3 because of space constraints, but the lower level is unacceptable. Dialog normalization is currently set to -27db.

See if this mod helps.
Encode set to AC3;
Click on custom tab;
On the first tab set Dialog normalization to “-31”;
On the last tab marked Preprocessing;
Set the Line Mode & RF mode profiles to “None”;
Now save this as a preset.
