  • AC3 files not linking with mgeg files in DVDA ??? No Audio

Posted by Wayne Grauel on September 20, 2005 at 12:19 pm

Hi, many times when i bring the MPEG rendered video file created in Vegas (as well as AC3 Audio) then DVDA program does not render peaks… or process the audio files… sometimes i have to go back and re render all the files in vegas…

Other times it works fine… video files with Audio are there in DVDA. Biggest clue to a problem is when i click on the mpeg file and it does not start building audio peaks…

What Gives??? Any clues as to what i am doing wrong!
    Thanks
    Wayne

A few things are needed for DVDA to see both files:

    1) The MPEG2 file should NOT have an audio stream
    2) The MPEG2 file and AC3 file should both have the same name (only different extensions)
    3) The MPEG2 file and AC3 file should be in the same directory

If you pull an MPEG2 file into DVDA and it doesn’t automatically find the AC3, all is not lost. Just go to the properties for that video and manually drag the AC3 file to the Audio entry box. No need for re-rendering anything.
