AC3 Audio and XDCAM EX Video Rendering in Vegas Pro 9

The unused speakers were correctly turned off.

Since the video and audio are correct after rendering on the Vegas Timeline, I am going to try burning to a BluRay disc directly off the Timeline and loading the BluRay onto another computer to see what happens.

I have a feeling the player I am currently using may be the problem.

Oh, you are checking it with a player? I thought you were dropping the file back into Vegas to check. Go into Options | Preferences | General and enable [x] Import MXF as multichannel and see what you really have!

You can not do AC3 directly off the time line with Blu Ray. The time line burn feature uses the “studio” encoder which does not work for blu ray. You must use the PRO ac3 encoder.

My version of Vegas Pro 10c lists the Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro encoder. I’m not sure why yours doesn’t (but it would be much of a “Burn to Blu-ray” option if it didn’t use the correct encoder) 😉
