Bet that title got your attention! We’re not actually using the hardware. I have plans to reuse the 1U cases from the audio and video units. The sides and back are attached with Phillips screws but the faces…which I want to replace…are attached with some sort of security screw. I’ve tried every collection of odd bits in my shop and no go.

Does anyone know what bit to use to remove them?

    Thanks,
    Mark

They have a small bump with a crater in the center and they appear more round than hex. I didn’t even try an Allen wrench in them. I’ll give it a try this evening. Might get lucky.

    Thanks!

    Facetious alert!!

Theyre probably a So*y screw. Nearly the same as a normal one, but ever so slightly different so they can cost triple.

I think they are Torx screws. Auto parts stores have the drivers for these, as they are used extensively in vehicles.

No luck with the Allen wrenches. I tried both metric and standard. I’ve used Torx quite a bit in the past…worked in a body shop for a few summers…these don’t look quite right for Torx but it couldn’t hurt to try. I’ll hit a parts house this weekend.

    Peace,
    Mark
