Yes this is a vent and probably not very constructive but still…

I’m getting at least a dozen crashes a day, some of which I can’t even force quit. There are all minds of bugs. And the big one for me is that editing more than 1 camera angle is just impossible (I’m not talking about the lack of multi cam – it’s just not designed to handle 2 ‘tracks’)

Rushed, corner cutting piece of junk!

Not true about tracks, I have been cutting 3 and 4 camera sequences in exactly the same way as I did in FCP 6 before multicam, laying one clip above the others and then razoring when I need to cut between shots. Please post more about how you are trying to work with it.

If you post your system specs someone may be able to help with the crashes. I’m getting a few each day, but they never lock up the system and they have so far not lost any work.

Also if you just want to vent then the main FCPX forum is very good for discussions of that type

I have to say that FCPX feels pretty stable to me (granted my main apps are Smoke on Mac and Nuke, which are both very crash prone so FCPX feels rock solid in comparison). If you’re really getting an inordinate number of crashes, it could be that your CPU or GPU are overheating or some other hardware or OS related issue. I know that doesn’t help your situation but it might be worth figuring out a way to install a clean version of the OS and FCPX on a separate drive and see if there’s still an issue.

[Steve Connor] “I have been cutting 3 and 4 camera sequences in exactly the same way as I did in FCP 6 before multicam”

Just for clarity, I’m guessing Steve probably meant FCP 4 / 4.5 as multicam functionality has been in FCP Classic since version 5.

Thanks for that, late night post and a poor memory!
