About memory allowed to vegas
Hello,
I would like to know what is the best percentage of memory which is good to allow for Sony Vegas.
My computer is not still powerfull it’s a Asus Laptop.

I have an indice of 5,8 on windows 7 (64 bits).
A Graphic Card, a i7, 4 Go DDR.In vegas video tools, the maxim memory available is 2997 but I have 4 Go on the computer, is that normal ?
I know, more memory I dedicated, fester will the editing but slower the rendering.
But is there kind of a rule like 30% of the max of the memory or something like that ?Moreover is that better to activated the GPU acceleration (in the same parameter option) ?

This is only beneficial for Playback Ram Preview and the lower it sets, the
stabler Vegas is.
And yes, what you have there is normal for only a 4GB memory system.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

With only 4GB of memory, I would reset that value to the default and then leave it alone. Increasing that setting with so little memory will increase the amount of memory swapping. Use Shift+M vs Shift+B if you need the preview function, it will use less memory.

For the previenw render (maybe Shift M, I do not remember). The sound is available ?
Last Pre-render I made was without sound (however I included the sound in the options). i think I made a mistake.I used : Mainconcept Mpeg2 – HDV 720-25p
