    hi, out there.

    now i’m working on a feature film(super 35mm) and my client gave me some HD documentary tape(1920 x 1080, 60i) for insert shots.

    so far, i found that fieldsKit and twixtor(and maybe RSMB together) can solve my task.

    after testing the demo versions and trying the tutorials, here is my workflow and some questions.

    1. deinterlace: 60i -> 60p
    2. twixtoring : 60p -> 24p
    3. motionblur : to compensate the difference of shutter angle(ie. exposure time) between
    30fps and 24fps, especially for fast moving objects.

    q1. do i have to deinterlace to 60p instead of to 30p?
    if i were to slow down the clip, 60p could be better, but my final result shoud be 24p.

    q2. in twixtor mauals and tutorials, entire parameters are explained enough.
    where can i find the detail explainations of the FieldsKit?
    i can’t find out which combinations of those settings is good for me because i’m new to
    Re:Vison and maybe i’m using demo version.

    any kind reply will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance.

    You say ”
    1. deinterlace: 60i -> 60p
    2. twixtoring : 60p -> 24p
    3. motionblur : to compensate the difference of shutter angle(ie. exposure time) between
    30fps and 24fps, especially for fast moving objects.

    Is this in AE, if not I would need to change the instructions that follow:

    Some start-up cues:
    https://www.revisionfx.com/generalfaqsFieldSupport.htm

    Comp 1: Deinterlacing

    Would worry about deinterlacing primarly on locked-off shots

    option A. No camera motion:
    Set Comp1 to 29.97
    deinterlace 1 frame per field (turning motion masking on)

    option B. Camera Motion
    Set Comp1 to 59.94
    work at double FPS mode

    option C. Ignore FieldsKit

    Comp 2: Drop Comp1 into Comp2, Apply Twixtor
    Set Comp2 to 24 FPS
    if Comp1 case A above in Twixtor set Input FPS to 29.97
    if Comp1 case B above in Twixtor set Input FPS to 59.94
    if Comp1 case C above in Twixtor set Twixtor Fields In to Lower

    You could set Motion Blur Compensation to 0.5 and bypass the next step
    Else set Motion Blur Compensation to 0

    Comp 3 Motion Blur: Drop Comp 2 into Comp3 (if you have not optioned out– You should get a slightly better result that way but it’s one more step)
    Comp Frame Rate 24 FPS,
    Apply RSMB
    So you say you want to go from 60I HD to 24P.
    The last point should be going from 59.94 to 24 (2 fields per frame X 29.97), so is even more significant.

    Set Motion Blur to 0.5 or 0.4 whatever feels visually right to you

    Render 24 FPS.
