I created an AAF in Avid media composer 8. I imported this AAF into Avid 6 on a separate system and all imported fine. I have my whole timeline with video and audio but the audio doesn’t play. If I match frame it the audio will then play in the source monitor so I think a potential solution would be to overcut it but that will take a long time and it’s not worth it. The reason I made an AAF instead of just copying the bin is because the bins from 8 will not open in the 6 version of the program. I tried. Any ideas on how to get the audio to play? It seems like everything is there and I have copied all media it’s just not playing for some reason. Thanks for any help.

Solution: When making the AAF in Media Composer 8 I noticed it was making new MXF media even though I had all settings set to link to existing media. I copied this media into a new media folder for media composer 6 then imported the AAF and the audio works now.
