Hey, i want to share a five days of nightmare. Work on a feature film editing. Directors first film
and she wants to offline edit on her laptop, xp, Premiere Pro 2. I help her to edit.

But now, its finished and we needs to export on Protools for sound edit. We have to pass to gate of
Avid. OK fine. Not fine. In turkish Rezalet, means awful.

I tried to a lot of ways of EDL. Edl sucks. EDL manager doesnt manage anything.

AAF project export fine. I seen all sequences offline. Fine. But on “Batch Import” section not work
for all clips. There are more than 700 clips and 700 sound files. Sound files ok. Avid connected to
files. But Avi files never been connected. I try renaming, removing effects, splitting timelines..
Not work. Avid only accept some video files. These are directly captured from tapes. Other videos created from PPro.

After all, today, sunday morning, director called me for asking her edit. I woke up hardly.
I hate all of them. 5 days were wasted like nightmare.

    And victory!

Open your premiere project. Go project window and find “Tape Name” tab. Write different “fake” tape
names (different bc for blocking conflicts of tapes). Go timeline, remove all fades and effects.
And export your project as AAF.

And last word: Im FCP user. Miserable me 🙂

2 Packets of Smoke, 10 Glasses of Tea, 4 Children of Different Women, 3 Days of Sleepless Work and NO MACHINE with 133 IQ without EGO 🙂
