    Anyone having any success?
    Few problems so far

I made a sequence full of problems for 8.01 and sent it to davinci 8.1 to see how it got on:
The short sequence was 30 shots all dnxhd 120p25 with 25 frame handles , exported aaf from avid .. imported to davinci, graded, exported aaf from davinci and imported to avid perfectly with handles (once I added the cuts to the surrounded dip to blacks see 4 below).

    Results so far

    1) Speed effect seemed to be mostly correct … could be the difference of fluid motion vs whatever davinci does.

    2) Unknown effects … davinci gave out about the clips with unknown effects and ignored them .. once the graded shot goes back to avid its effect came back with it (including unsupported transitions) so thats nice.

    3) Resizing … works fine … didn’t tick the checkbox on import to use sizing info … but once back to avid resizing fx is back also.

    4) Dip to black transitions … 50% worked …. a single dip to black works fine but if you have a clip with dip to black on in and out then this clip will relink to ungraded shot once back to avid .. been in touch with blackmagic on this one and is a bug … my workaround is to insert a cut in the surrounded clip (only done this in avid before sending to davinci but could work if you add the edit in davinci conform?
I haven’t yet tried other transitions to see if this is just a dip to black thing.

Then I tried 2×24 min programs, cleaner that the above test sequence with 2 layers, only a few dip to blacks and 15frame handles 400 shots also all dnxhd 120.
They both imported and graded and rendered fine but one aaf would not import no matter what I tried Exception: CM_OFFSET_OUT_OF_RANGE
and the other would not export … crashed davinci everytime.
I have tried avid 4.05 and 5.5.3 as both origin and recipient of the aafs …. no joy so far.

The only difference I can see and I have more testing to do to see what is responsible is that
    1) 400 clips not 30
    2) I had black spaces in the sequence … didn’t have any in the test sequence … not sure if that is freaking anything out
    3) I had a few locators in each sequence … shouldn’t be a big deal but will try without

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
