I have Premier Pro CS3 on my XP laptop and my Desktop Vista. When I use Adobe Media Encoder on the XP laptop and choose Quicktime format, I have the option to use AAC encoding in the Audio settings tab. When I try to do the same thing on my Desktop running Vista it does not give me the AAC option. It is not listed at all. I’ve installed Quicktime version 7.5 on both computers. The only difference I’ve noted was that my laptop has Nero running whereas the Desktop Vista doesn’t. My version of Nero was not compatible with Vista. Not sure it means anything but thought I saw something about Nero having AAC encoder. The Vista machine does show an option for AAC but only if I choose H264 fromat. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, I have it working on my laptop with XP as well but as stated for some reason it will not come up as an option on Windows Vista. Just finished re-installing as well. Thanks for getting back tho..

I just had exaclty the same problem with Adobe CS3 on my Win7-64-bit system that Quicktime work properly as stand alone application, but the Adobe CS3 media encoder will not show the AAC option!

I spent about a complete day to find the very simple solution:

As Quicktime is still a 32-bit Application you need to install Quicktime in WinXP-SR2 compatible mode to make AAC show up and working in Adobe Premiere CS3 media encoder!!!

Hope this help someone wasting time … !?
