this is your fault Nicolle. You must plan for this in advance, and not wait until the last minute to find out how to use your equipment.

B&H Photo is open on Sundays. You need an Addenda RS 2/8. This is what AVID uses (same as the Datamate). Virtual Media is the AVID dealer in NY, but they won’t be open until tomorrow morning. They have lots of these. These “rosetta stone” products cost $98.

Virtual Media is on 21st and Broadway. B&H is on 33rd and 9th.

Thanks for the suggestions. Our problem had nothing to do with waiting until the last minute. We cut an entire 2 hour television special on this system last year with no problem, so we didn’t anticipate one this time. What changed was that Avid advised us to do a software upgrade last month, but didn’t warn us that that meant our system would no longer recognize the deck without additional cables or other materials. B&H carries what we need but didn’t have it in stock. Haven’t heard of this addenda R 2/8, but we’ll check it out.
