  • AA settings that work for animation??

SOS. I’m new to C4D but not 3D animation.

I created a simple scene with GI. It flickers on animating. AA set to “Best” I tried combinations of Threshold, min/max and MIP scale in the render settings, to no avail. Ergo, I have one question that ALL animators need answering: what are settings that do not flicker? I don’t care about render time, as flicker is a show-stopper.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    regards, David

Do you have the AA Filter set to Animation?

It might be your gi settings. if you set it to stochastic then it’ll stop flickering but prepare for longer render times. Or else buy vray, it’s way better than the cinema 4d renderer http://www.vrayforc4d.com

GI – oh right (sleep is good), check out Help for GI there are two animation modes for GI, Camera and Object and the descriptions there should help about which you would want to try.
