    hello:

does anyone know of a way to quickly add audio transitions to a bunch of clips all at once? my editor, coming from avid and new to fcp, is informing me that avid allows him to set in and outs on a sequence, and apply transitions or whatever else he wants to the selected clips. any similar capabilities in fcp?

Yep, you can edit the clips from the timeline, right back over themselves into the timeline. Highlight the clips you want transitions added to, make sure the playhead is set to the in point of the first clip, and make sure you’re patched to the same track. Then, drag the clips from the timeline to the canvas, and over “overwrite with transition.” It will add them back over themselves and put the default transition between them. If you want a different transition, change the default.
