  • A trace of the rolling title is seen before title begins looking like a glitch

    Hello out there,
I’ve edited a short film on Final Cut Pro 4 but have a big problem with the scrowling title. When I play the timeline it looks fine on the computer, but when i output it to tape you see a trace of the scrowling title (about a second) right before the title comes on. Also, i’ve had a terrible time
with the tittle, for instance, why does everytime i do one little change to it, it takes forever to render. But my biggest concern right now is to get rid of the glitch, it looks awful.
the title was create in Final Cut Pro, under Text, scrowling text.

    Thanks out there,
    Miriam

You could try several things. With the text clip you now have, try dimming the opacity of it for a second or so.

Or, do the title with 3D text. Or, get the wonderful scrolling text plugin from CHV. Think it’s called CHV Text collection.

This goes way back in the cobwebs, but seem to remember that you don’t want the roll to go over any transitions like dissolves. You will have to export and reimport the rendered segment/clip or something similiar to create one solid clip for the roll to go over–I don’t remember if nesting works.

It has be a long time since I had to fix similiar problem, but I think that was the solution if I remember correctly.

It’s probably better to get a third party crawl and credit roll generator like Chris Poisson suggests. It’s not very expensive.

    Something to try,
    Bryce

    Don’t worry Mr. B. I have a cunning plan…

I have had this happen several times over various projects.

    The fix?

Shorten or lengthen that particular rolling or crawling title by just ONE FRAME (or two) and re-render.
Try it on either end and see what happens.
I know its maddening but it works for me.
