    Hi,

I have a common time displacement problem in After Effects.
I’m trying to achive a smooth Slit-Scan effect on 720p HD material.
Since the “Time Resolution” value is limited to “127.0” I recive thick lines instead of smooth motion. Entering a value larger than “127” dose’nt change the result.

Is there a plugin that can work with HD material?

If not, What should I do? Is there another program I should use?

    Thanks,

    G Muggia

Displacement and compound effects rely on the quality of the offset map which is a grayscale image or it’s take from the luma value of one channel of a map layer. what does your map layer look like?

127 is half of 255, the number of shades of gray AE can use in compound effects.

    First of all, thanks!

I’m using a grayscale gradient i created in photoshop with the gradiant tool.

Should I use a different type of displacement map?
Is AFX the right program for me?

    Thanks
