    Hi,

I’ve just been given a new copy of FC Studio to edit a ‘making of’ for a DVD release later this year. Digitising will all be done in an edit house and put onto a drive for me so as I can simply plug it it. Online will be done at an edit suite as well so i’m really only in need of an offline system.

For large scale projects i’ll always use a post house but for small fun things like this or the occasional pilot I’m looking for a system to buy.

I was originally thinking I could get away with an imac the new 24″ but i’m worried that I may come to regret it and should spend a little more.

As such i’m thinking of a mac pro 2.8 quad, with 4gig ram, a 320 primary hard drive and a 500gig secondary and the standard ati 2600 video card.

Do you think that would be enough? I’d really like some advice as I need to purchase a new system very soon.

    Thanks for your time.

Any of the new machines will be fine.
Heck, almost any old G5 will do the job for you.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
