    Hi all,

I currently have a few HDR-FX1’s which I edit on a HDR 50i timeline which I believe is 25fps. I am thinking of buying a canon EOS 550D which the canon site says records HD video in:

full 1920x1080p HD resolution, allowing photographers to select the frame rate preferred from 30, 25 and 24fps, as well as offering 720p video at 60 and 50fps.

My question is would I be able to edit 1080p 25fps footage in the premiere HDR 50i timeline as the further details of that timeline says its 25fps also. Would the two types of footage look ok together?

I also believe the HDR-FX1 captures 1080i which I think might be 1440×1080. Is this the same as the 1080p at 1920×1080? Is it just a different aspect ratio.

The more I read the more I get confused by in short my 2 questions are:

    1) Can I edit FX1 1080i and 550D 1080p 25fps footage in the same HDR 50i timeline (or should I use the 25p option?)

    2) I output my FX1 footage at the moment as HD mpegs in premiere at 1920×1080. Am I damaging the video quality by increasing it from 1440 to 1920 or is it not actually an increase?

    Many thanks in advance
