    Hello everyone,

I’m still new to AE. I am looking for a source (tutorial) on achieving the view through the eyes of a robot, kind of like in the terminator movies, mainly the processing and typing effect.

Thank you in advance for any help.

If you search this forum for “scanlines” or “surveillance camera”, you will come up with enough posts. Same for interference/ distortions. As for the type stuff, that is pretty much up to your taste, but should be simple to achieve with a few text animators. Other than that Digital Anarchy’s Anarchy Text suite is still a great resource for creating automated computer screens and stuff.

I think the Terminator (Governator, ha!) saw heat signatures. This is most simply simulated using the Colorama effect. It’s not perfect, but any audience will get the drift.

For an enhancement of the effect precede it with a medium-strong Fast Blur.
