If its a different frame rate it can trow imported audio ou of sync. -
It’s crazy and Spooky – I really checked everything – all system settings, Preferences, everything.
But it’s still out of sync. But on the other machine in our shop it’s fine, plus I imported WAV from Sound editor and Final Offline with Sound from FCP, imported it in Ableton Live – it’s perfectly sync and how it should be.
There’s a ghost in the machine!Somebody knows a good FCP Exorcist?

I’ve had a similar problem once. A project was filmed @ 25fps, edited @ 25fps and mixed at @ 25fps. However when the mix came back it slowly went out of sync even tho the timeline and stems where 25fps.
What it turned out to be was a bug of sorts in FCP. At some point during the edit I had trashed my prefs and never set the default setting back to 25fps – the one that automatically appears when you next boot up FCP after trashing prefs. Now even tho I was editing in a 25fps timeline with a 25fps audio stems FCP had “tagged” them as 29.97 when they were imported (although it still showed up as 25fps in QT) because that was now FCPs default setting.
The solution was to trash my prefs again and also the audio stems FCP had been working with. Then reimporting ‘fresh’ stems.

I basically tried all the mentioned methods, but nada.
What worked in the end for me: I took the WAV of the Sound Designer, took it to another machine in the shop (cause on the machine in question, we tried it already), and used QT7 to convert the file to AIFF.
I took this file back to the problem computer, and all over sudden this converted file was not out of sync anymore.
I still have no idea, what the mistake actually was, but I’m happy it works again.Greetings,
