  • A quick keyboard shortcut question. FCP – E in Ppro?

I’ve got a quick question, I am a quick cut on the timeline kind of video editor and I was wondering if Ppro has this.

I’ve looked about but haven’t found its FCP equivelant.

Is there a shortkey function where I could shorten the clip on the timeline just like FCP does? The default key is E and this is what it does:

I have a 3 second clip on timeline
I want to shorten the clip by 1 second
I go back by 1 second, click on the end of the clip
    And then press E
Clip shortens to where my ‘line’ is

    Visual text representation:

    1. 2. 3 (seconds)
    |————-|

    1. 2. 3 (seconds) (clicked end of clip)
    |————-][

    1. 2. 3 (seconds) (pressed E)
    |——|

I use this all the time and was hoping that Ppro would have the same.

There is a shortcut called: trim in point to playhead or trim out point to playhead.

There is also a shortcut for Extending an edit point/s.

Keep in mind that these shortcuts work across active tracks.
