What is the difference between applying the “separate XYZ position” preset to a null object (where the camera is parented to the null object), and creating three null objects assigning to each an x rotation, a y rotation, and a z rotation to each null object??? (I am aware that in what order they are parented to one another affects how they work)

In short i have watched the creativecow videos on how to animate cameras and wandering whats the difference between doing what he does in the videos and using the preset??
